Al-Qur'an Surat 5 (Al-Ma'idah) Ayat 38-40
وَٱلسَّارِقُ وَٱلسَّارِقَةُ فَٱقۡطَعُوٓاْ أَيۡدِيَهُمَا جَزَآءَۢ بِمَا كَسَبَا نَكَٰلٗا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٞ
And [as for] the male thief, and the female thief, amputate their hands [as] recompense for what they committed [as a punishment] from الله. And الله is Exalted in Might and Wise.
Dan [untuk] lelaki pencuri, dan perempuan pencuri, potonglah tangan mereka [sebagai] balasan atas perbuatan yang mereka lakukan [dan sebagai siksaan] dari الله. Dan الله Mahaperkasa, Mahabijaksana.
فَمَن تَابَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ظُلۡمِهِۦ وَأَصۡلَحَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَتُوبُ عَلَيۡهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٌ
But whoever repents after his wrongdoing and repairing [situation], indeed الله will turn to him in forgiveness. Indeed الله is Forgiving and Merciful.
Tetapi siapa yang bertawbat setelah melakukan kezholiman itu dan memperbaiki [keadaan], maka sesungguhnya الله menerima tawbatnya. Sungguh الله Maha Pengampun Maha Penyayang.
أَلَمۡ تَعۡلَمۡ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ يُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَغۡفِرُ لِمَن يَشَآءُۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ
Do you not know that to الله belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth? He punishes whom He wills and forgives whom He wills, and الله is over all things competent.
Tidakkah kamu tahu bahwa الله yang memiliki seluruh kerajaan langit dan bumi? Dia menyiksa siapa yang Dia kehendaki dan mengampuni siapa yang Dia kehendaki. الله Mahakuasa atas segala sesuatu.
